Top industries in India like automobile, retail, e-commerce have shifted gears in the past couple of years to become the most significant sectors, contributing largely to the Indian economy. Andhra Pradesh is the largest exporter of Marine and Pharma products amongst Indian states. The state contributes 16% of India’s pharmaceutical production value and 10% of total automotive exports from India with the presence of leaders such as Apollo Tyres, Yokohoma Tyres, Isuzu Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bharat Forge, Hero Motors, among others. Andhra Pradesh industrial areas and infrastructure have largely been developed by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (AIIC). The AP Government in its industrial policy 2020-2023 is intending to promote new industries only in industrial parks to ensure greater environmental sustainability.

As of now, there are 3 industrial corridors and 19 operational Special Economic Zones (SEZ), several national investment and manufacturing zones. Industrial parks in Andhra Pradesh are worth the investment. Apart from being well-connected with 6 airports (5 greenfield), over 1,23,000 km of the road network, 26,00 km of the rail network and 14 ports (5 operational), it has a coastline of 974 km, the second-longest in India. The state has an installed power capacity of over 24,885 MW and has abundant water resources with 10% consumption allocated for industrial development through Krishna and Godavari River basins.
